About Nabay Municipality

Nabay’s Municipality was founded in 1963. Its local government is currently led by a Municipal Council of 12 members, chaired by Mr. Marwan Chadid Atallah. In addition, the town has three representatives known as ‘mokhtars. The Municipality is subject to decree No. 5595/82.

Nabay is a Christian village, with a population of approximately 4,500 people from three denominations: Greek-Catholic (Melkite), Maronite, and Greek Orthodox. The number of displaced Syrians is estimated to be around 600, with no Palestinian refugees in the town
